無料で使い始められますっていう感じで始まっていたから、えぇーまじかよっ💦というひとも多いかと。Changes to the free Power BI service にある通り、共有機能などが使用できなくなるわけです。Going forward, we will improve free to have the same functionality as Power BI Pro, but will restrict sharing and collaboration features to only Power BI Pro users. Free users will benefit from access to all data sources, higher workspace storage limits, and higher refresh and streaming rates. These changes will be effective June 1.データの取得元として扱えるデータソースの種類やデータのスケジュール更新などは Power BI Pro同等になります。Changes to the free Power BI service のトピック にはもう少し詳しく書いてますね。伸びてるコメントなど読んでいくとさらに詳しくつかめるでしょう。
Which Power BI Pro capabilities are not available with the free service?ダッシュボードの共有をはじめ、レポートのPowerPointへのエクスポート、 ビジュアルからのCSVまたは Excelブックへのエクスポートには Power BI Pro が必要になるということなのでしょう。アプリ ワークスぺースことグループワークスペースと組織のコンテンツパックの利用はこれまでも Power BI Pro が必要だったので変わらない感じでしょう。
Peer-to-peer dashboard sharing, group workspaces (now called app workspaces), export to PowerPoint, export to CSV/Excel, and analyze in Excel with Power BI apps are capabilities limited to Power BI Pro.
Extended Power BI Pro trial terms and conditions発表されたのは今月5月のGWで割と直前な感じがしていますが、これまで利用していたPower BI（無料）のアクティブユーザーに対しては幾分かの対応がされるようですね。通常のPower BI Pro の試用は60日間なのですが 1年間の延長試用が可能になります。来年の2018-05-31までは Power BI Pro の機能が利用可ということでしょう。サービスが変更されたらオプトインする感じかな。
- General purpose: The free 12-month extended Power BI Pro trial offer (the “Offer”) is available to existing qualified users of the free Power BI service, in order to address changes to the service effective June 1 related to the ability to distribute and receive content. Eligible users will receive the Offer beginning June 1, 2017 and ending May 31, 2018.
- Eligibility: Users who registered for the free Power BI service on or before May 2, 2017 and have signed into the service at least once between May 2, 2016 and May 2, 2017 are eligible for the Offer.
- Exclusions: Power BI Pro and Power BI Pro trial users are not eligible for the Offer.
- Term: The Offer will begin on June 1, 2017 and end on May 31, 2018. Acceptance can occur at any time during the 12-month period, though the offer will terminate on May 31, 2018 for all users regardless of when they accepted the Offer.
Power BI Premium
関連して Power BI Premium のこと。あたらしく利用できるようになるライセンス形態で、ユーザアカウントではなくキャパシティに対しライセンスされるもの。約$5,000 / 月からのエンタープライズ向けライセンスでというところでしょう。あまり利用しないユーザーでも Power BI Pro が必要な場合があったのだけど、専用になったキャパシティ内で使用するに限り、Power BI Pro を必要としないということかと。組織内で共有するレポートやダッシュボードは Power BI アプリで展開することになり、これを作成/発行するには Power BI Pro が必要なので、全体の利用状態（アカウント数や利用頻度）で Power BI Premium のノード数やスペックを決めて、コンテンツを提供する主要ユーザ分のPower BI Pro を用意するという感じ。Power BI Report Server
オンプレミス環境で運用できる機能が拡張されたSQL Server Report Service(SSRS)。社内にとどめたいデータがあって、その Power BI レポートは専用の Power BI Desktop （今のところ？）で作成し、レポートの共有ができるようになる。ですが、どうしても必要ならって気がしています。クラウドでの運用までのつなぎって感じでもいいんじゃないかなと。
Power BI Premium の GAは6/1となってますが、Power BI Report Server 含めすべての機能が展開されるということではないからじっくり検討する時間はあるはず。
高いですか？
Power BI を使う目的というか機能を考えるとそうでもないかなと思うんですよね。ひとつの業務アプリケーションのレポートを共有するとなるとそれは高いということでしょうけど。多くの種類をデータソースをサポートしていて、組織内のたくさんの種類のデータをマッシュアップできて、ひとつのダッシュボードに収めることができて、様々なデバイスを経由して共有することが可能なのだから、使い方次第かなぁと。参考：
